Dancing Skull – Mike Edwards

£175.00

Mike Edwards is an established artist based in Brighton UK. He is well known for his portraits made of text – such as the commissioned typographic portrait of Lord Attenborough, now on permanent public display at the Attenborough Centre for Creative Arts in Brighton – or the portrait of Nadya from Pussy Riot created from the text of a William Wordsworth poem.

Mike has exhibited extensively and his work is in collections all over the world – including those of Imelda May, Roger Taylor, Sir Bradley Wiggins and the late publisher Felix Dennis. David Bowie signed Mike’s unique typographic portrait of Aladdin Sane – which went on to raise phenomenal funds for charity at auction.

An exceptional painter – Mike started out as a professional artisan artist before developing his own body of work. Amongst many other things, he’s created a stage set for rock band Blur and produced commissioned artworks for Bacardi, Budweiser and Urban Outfitters.

Mike continues to push boundaries in new paintings currently in progress in his studio in central Brighton.
